Elephant and Friends

One day, an elephant walked into a forest looking for friends.

He saw a monkey sitting on a tree and said,
“Hi Monkey! Will you be my friend?”

The monkey replied,
“You are too big. You can’t swing on trees like me.”

The elephant felt sad but kept walking. He met a rabbit and asked,
“Hi Rabbit! Will you be my friend?”

The rabbit said,
“You are too big. You can’t come into my burrow to play.”

Then the elephant saw a frog.
“Hi Frog! Will you be my friend?” he asked.

The frog replied,
“Sorry. You are too big to jump and play like me.”

The elephant felt lonely. He saw a fox and asked,
“Hi Fox! Will you be my friend?”

The fox said,
“You’re too big. You can’t run and hide like us.”

The elephant felt very sad.

The next day, all the animals in the forest were running in fear.
“What's wrong?” the elephant asked.

“The tiger is chasing us!” cried the bear.
“He wants to eat everyone!”

The elephant wanted to help. He walked up to the tiger and said,
“Please don’t hurt the other animals.”

The tiger growled,
“Go away! This is none of your business!”

The elephant didn’t give up. He gave the tiger a strong kick.
The tiger got scared and ran away!

The elephant went back and told the animals,
“The tiger is gone. You’re all safe now!”

All the animals cheered.
“Thank you, Elephant!” they said.
“You are the perfect size to be our friend!”
