True Wealth

Once there lived a very rich man in a big town. He had a lot of money and lived in luxury. He often showed off his wealth to his friends and relatives.

His son was studying in another city. During vacation, the son came home. The father wanted to show his son how rich they were and how poor people lived. He hoped his son would understand how hard life was for the poor.

So, the father and son went on a trip around the town. They rode in a fancy chariot and visited different places where poor people lived. After two days, they returned home.

The father was pleased. He noticed that his son was quiet, and thought the trip had taught him a lesson.

He asked, “How was the trip, son? Did you enjoy it?”

“Yes, Dad. It was a great experience,” the son replied.

“So, what did you learn from it?” the father asked proudly.

The son paused for a moment, then said,
“Dad, we have only two dogs, but they had ten.
We have a pool in our garden, but they have a river that never ends.
We use expensive lights, but they have the stars at night.
We have a small piece of land, but they have wide open fields.
We have walls to protect us, but they have friends to protect each other.
We buy our food, but they grow their own.”

The father stood silent. He didn’t expect this answer.

Then the son said, “Dad, thank you for showing me how poor we really are.”

Moral:
True wealth is not about money or things. It is about love, friendship, and living in harmony with others.
