The Runner's Persistence
Ravi was a young boy from a small village. He loved to run. Every morning, he ran on the dusty road near his home. His shoes were old. His clothes were simple. But his heart was strong.
One day, Ravi saw a poster. It said, “City Marathon – Big Race – Big Prize!” His eyes shined. He wanted to join. He told his father. His father smiled and said, “You can try. Just don’t give up.”
Ravi trained hard. He woke up early. He ran every day, even when it rained. People laughed at him. “You are too small,” they said. “You are too poor.” But Ravi didn’t stop. He kept running.
Race day came. The city was big and loud. So many runners had new shoes, smart watches, and nice clothes. Ravi felt nervous. But he remembered his father’s words: “Just don’t give up.”
The race began. Ravi ran fast. Then he ran slow. Then fast again. His legs hurt. His breath was short. Many runners went ahead of him. But Ravi kept going.
Finally, he saw the finish line. He was tired. He wanted to stop. But he told himself, “One more step… one more step…”
He crossed the line.
He did not win the prize. But he finished the race. And the crowd clapped. A man came to him and said, “You didn’t win, but you inspired many. You never gave up.”
Ravi smiled. That day, he learned something powerful:
You don’t need to be rich or strong. You just need to keep going.
