The Lion and the Mouse

One day, a lion was sleeping in the jungle. A small mouse ran over his body, waking him up. The lion caught the mouse under his big paw and opened his mouth to eat him.

"Please let me go, O King," said the mouse. "I didn’t mean to wake you. If you forgive me, I’ll never forget it. Maybe one day I can help you too!"

The lion laughed at the idea but let the mouse go.

A few days later, the lion was caught by hunters. They tied him to a tree and went to get a cart to carry him.

Just then, the little mouse came by. He saw the lion in trouble and quickly chewed through the ropes with his sharp teeth.

“You see?” said the mouse. “I told you I could help one day!”

Moral: Even small acts of kindness can bring big rewards.
