The Greedy Fox and the Tree Trunk
One day, a hungry fox was walking through the forest looking for food. He had searched everywhere but couldn’t find anything to eat. He was tired and very hungry.
As he reached the edge of the forest, he saw a big tree with a hole in its trunk. Curious, the fox looked inside and saw a package. He thought, “Maybe there’s food in there!”
The fox quickly squeezed into the hole. To his surprise, the package had slices of bread, some meat, and fruit! An old woodcutter had left his lunch there while he worked in the forest.
The fox was thrilled. He gobbled up all the food until he was completely full.
After eating, he felt thirsty and tried to climb out of the hole to find water. But no matter how hard he pushed or pulled, he couldn’t get out.
Why?
Because he had eaten too much and grown too fat to fit through the hole!
The fox sat sadly inside the tree and said, “I should’ve thought before eating so much.”
Moral:
Think before you act. Too much greed can trap you.
