ABC Learns a Lesson

ABC was a middle-aged man who came from a poor family. His father ran a small welding shop and worked long hours—more than 12 hours a day—to take care of the family. Even though they didn’t have much money, ABC’s parents raised him with love and care.

ABC was an average student in school, usually scoring around 70%. His dream was to become a doctor, but his marks weren’t high enough. So instead, he joined a different course, completed it, and got a decent job in a company.

As time went on, ABC’s father continued to work at his welding shop so he wouldn't have to depend on his son. After ABC got a permanent job, his parents asked him to get married. He married a girl from his hometown, got promoted at work, and soon had twin boys.

ABC began earning a good salary and started living in luxury. He bought a new house and even bought a car, even though his company already gave him one. Many of the things he bought were not really needed.

But after 6–7 years of living like this, he started facing financial problems. He could no longer handle the high expenses or afford his children's education and other needs.

Then, ABC’s father fell sick and had to stop working. He asked ABC for some money to help with medical treatment and other expenses.

ABC, who was already struggling with money, got angry and shouted at his parents. He said,
"You never gave me a good school. I never had fancy clothes or food. I didn’t get tuitions when I had low marks. I had to struggle for 10 years to settle. And now you are adding to my burden. Don’t come to me again!"

His parents were heartbroken.

A week later, ABC went on a work trip. There, he saw a young boy, around 10 years old, selling toys. The boy asked ABC to buy some toys. ABC asked him, “Why are you selling toys? Why aren’t you in school?”

The boy replied, “My father lost his hand in an accident and can’t work. My mother works as a maid. I go to school in the morning and sell toys in the evening to help my parents. I work 3 hours a day and study at night.”

ABC was touched. He bought a few toys from the boy and walked away, thinking deeply. That small boy, even at such a young age, was helping his parents. But ABC, in his quest for a luxurious life, had forgotten his duty toward his own parents.

At that moment, he realized his mistake. He had learned a valuable lesson from a little boy.

Moral of the Story:
We must always respect and care for our parents. When we grow up, it becomes our responsibility to support them, just like they supported us when we were small.
